A Pair of Rich Bowls

A Pair of Rich Bowls

I turned the smaller of these two bowls from a block of satinwood and the larger from a block of madrone burl. I applied an ebony lip to both by constructing and attaching an eight-segmented ring of ebony. In the floor of each I applied 22k gold leaf. The bowls are 8" x 2" and 6" by 2", respectively. I love the richness of the woods.

Outstanding. Having a hard time trying to decide which one in my favorite. What's the finish?
