This is a beautiful piece Paula. Your carving is impeccable. I assume you painted the piece then carved through the paint to reveal the wood, but it also looks like some pyrography. Love the technique.

Note: I've viewed this piece several times before, and always have been impressed with the artistic flair of it.......but, have not been able to compose my words to reflect the "feeling" it gives me. Rather than to omit comment, I guess it was best to abbreviate.......... The fact that I've returned to look this over again, should be taken complementary......because, in this case, what's not said may speak more than words can.......ooc
