I used Craft Supplies UK cellulose sanding sealer followed by 0000 steel wool to get rid of any ripples and then a few light applications of Conservators Wax. A number of years ago Chris Stott visited our guild and that was the method he used on boxes and what he recommends in his book on boxes. He did use Carnuba instead of monocrystalline wax though.
Mike, there is only one nit to pick. The little sharp edge on the lid instead of it being a curve like everything else on this absolutly wonderful box stops the eye for just a moment. If you think my comment has merit remount that lid and give that just a bit of curve.
Thanks Kelly. The bottom section of this box is a copy of a Mike Stafford box and I wanted to give the top something original. The bloodwood was so much fun to detail, I felt almost like I was doing the top finial of an ornament. I like the crispness and would have difficulty rounding it over.
