Steve, sure wish you would have given a description of this piece. Love the top insert and the flow of the work till it hits that square base. A slight undercurve to that base would have not only given the work lift but elevated it to top level box. And since this can be remounted its an easy fix.
 
thanks for your comments. As you said it will be easy to remount this and round off the bottom a bit.

This was my first upload and it wasn't clear to me where to put a description. Here is it:

This 6 1/2" X 3" box is made of box elder. The top is dyed bordeaux red and polished with many layers of platina shellac. The rest of the box is waxed.
