I turned the piece, taped all the areas that I did not want to blast. A friend who is a machineist lets me use his equipment. He uses glass beads to blast with instead of sand. After the blasting, remounted on the lathe and turned the inside and the foot piece, then dug out all the worm poop before coloring and finishing. I taped the inside of the bowl ( all areas that has worm holes that went all the way through) so the dye wouldn't be blown into the center when I shot it with dye. I wanted the inside to remain pristine.
