Box Elder and Walnut Bowl

Box Elder and Walnut Bowl

Box Elder body that is 12" by 9" by 3.5". Two natural edges and 2 cut ends. The cut ends are not parallel on purpose.
The walnut feet are dadoed into the bottom. They follow the grain so there is no cross grain expansion and contraction problems.
Lacquered then waxed

I like this piece. Nice wood, unconventional presentation. Sorry but I have to ask about the bottom. Is the bottom smooth or is the rabbit for your chuck still there?
Frank

Frank - the bottom is perfectly flat. I turned off the chucking point after the bowl was finished by mounting it on my vaccuum chuck.
Thanks for the post. Doug
