Maple Burl

Maple Burl

I purchased this blank at the 2011 TAW Symposium and it has been staring at me now for over a year. So I decided it was time. The holder is maple compwood. The base is a piece knot with bark. The form is 7-3/4" tall by about 5-1/2" dia. Wall thickness is right at 1/8". On the base (which is not attached)it measures about 10" tall. The finish is my 10 minute finish. The burl is much better seen in person but you know how that goes taking photos.
Very nice piece from an exquisite piece of wood. Nicely done and I really like the support for the vessel.
