Delicate Stress

Delicate Stress

Here is my 2nd full form since the carpal tunnel surgery. I was gifted this Oak burl from Ken Hill and finally got around to making something from it. The cup portion was a bit stressfull, from the flying wing to the massive inclusion in the side. But it all worked out.

Thinned to about 1/16" then tapering thicker at the stem.

8 3/4" tall x 2 1/2" on the main part of the cup.

Oak burl and African blackwood (luckly had a bit of brown in the blank)

Comments and critiques are always encouraged. Thanks
Difficult enough to do without getting it down to 1/16th thickness. Delicate work, to say the least.

How do you sand something like that?

A beautiful piece and appropriately titled!
