Really pretty form and piece of wood. Did you have any trouble with the oil on the spalting? I haven't dealt with too much spalted wood yet but had heard oil on spalting can cause it to be muddy looking. Certainly doesn't look like that here! Very pretty.

David, I've turned many varieties of spalted wood and can't say I ever had any problem with Danish oil. Spalted wood can be very soft and punky. I usually stabilize spalted wood which hardens it and may make a difference.
George, This little gem was a leftover piece from a small log. I turned two other larger pieces from the same log which don't look nearly as good. Sometimes smaller is better!
