This piece of curly Maple is the other half of the blank that was used to create Broken Hearted, a deep red form I posted last week. Like that piece, this one was also cracked when I got it but I loved the unique curl in it and just had to turn something!

Curly Maple, 6 3/8 diameter x 4 7/8 high x 1/8 thick or a little less, dyed with multiple coats of Royal Blue powdered RIT and green TransTint in an attempt to capture some of the colors of the tropics. Can you tell I am getting tired of looking at snow?? This piece has multiple coats of gloss wipe-on poly and will be given a coat of Renaissance wax once the finish has cured.

As always, your comments, critiques and opinions are welcomed!

Thanks for looking!
Steve, what a great shape, beautiful colors and a wonderful piece of wood. Well done all around!
