Etruscan Discovered

This started out as a simple vase, when the piece broke from the neck. Instead of discarding it I thought it presented an oportunity to experiment along the lines of the great "Relic" series by Malcom Ray. It is cherry, 7 1/2" high x 4 1/2" dia., carved, then textured with a heat pen. The inner portion was dyed black. The pattern bands were highlighted with a pencil and sprayed with matte lacquer. Oil was used on the natural colored cherry. Comments and suggestions very welcome.

Hi Dale. Thanks you for your comments.
This piece is Far Out! Neat idea and execution. Great contrast and detail. Very cool work, man.-Robin
