I cut the blank from the log at an angle in order to have a slanted natural bark top. A pleasant surprise, to me, was the unusual grain pattern that resulted. About 7" high. Comments and suggestions welcome.

Very nice piece. The natural edge sloped top is a great idea. I turn a lot of shapes like this, but have always carved the tops down. This is a much better idea and opens up a lot of new possibilities.
