Amazing! Such cool stuff and your getting a new one done every day this week. I usually like the traditional turnings but your series is very striking.

When I saw this, I was like 'wow that's cool.'
I wonder if it'd be too tacky to have a quilted maple disc.
But to show good figure, you'd need a more yellow color. I'm very partial to the super pale maple in combination with the blue. It works.
You'd also need a bajillion dollars to get a two-foot wide slab of highly figured quilted maple.
I'm rambling.
I give it an A+.
I normally don't go in for this kind of stuff, I guess I just don't have the appreciation of art. However, I really like it! It really caught my attention and caused me to linger, studying it. Great work!
I like the fact that you have rounded over the edges of the cutout. It makes it have a blended feel, like it is molding itself to the fabric. What a striking piece!
