Fleur Noir

My wife, Cynthia, and I wanted to collaborate on a teapot. I turned this pot and left the body a bit thick so that she could do relief carving. Cynthia saw a sunflower. The lid is the center of the flower. The wood is Cypress, stained black and finished with acrylic spray and buffed.

Nice turning and carving. I'm not too bad at the turning but I have considerable difficulty with the relief carving using the high speed air turbine tool.

Nice collabaration, great end result, got me all fired up to try some serious power carving
