Swallow's Nest Castle, Crimea

This castle is modeled after the main tower on the Swallow's Nest castle in Crimea. You can google on it to find out more of the history of the castle.

It was made in 14 different pieces, and the main pieces have threaded joints. All turning was done by hand and then decorated on the ornamental lathe. Most of the cuts were done with simple indexing and a drill frame.

The wood is African Blackwood (on a base of Red Mallee Burl). Size is about 8" tall.
