Green Tea
Joe Herrmann and I exchanged a bit of timber and this tea pot was made from a piece of Maple he sent me. Lovely to turn /carve and has good tensile strength Thanks Joe
No 3 in the series
The intention when I started was to end up with an aged relic
All turned in one piece, for those of you that havent seen my turnings yes even the spout and handle are connected not glued on
These tea pots are very timely, with the texture and carving taking days
For the leaves I used real tea leaves as the patterns .So you get an idea drawing the leaves on before carving took 3 hours as I had to have a couple of goes to get the layout that I was happy with .
Next came the Dremel to shape the leaves followed by Phrogohy to Crispin the detail as I new some of that would be lost with the verdigris being applied.
The wings were then sliced in a pattern with a scalpel
Indian inks then airbrushing (12 colors have highlighted all the detail )
Followed by dry brushing of gold leaf
A mission as always but hopefully you like this so it is worth it
Yes the photo is crappy but I just finished this and couldn't wait to show everybody
