Ancient Kauri
Turned from a piece 22 inches square 8 to 9 inches thick
Amazing how much waste comes out of a bowl this size
Turned to shape then on the top side carved with Mini arbotec king Arthur Merlin and wire brush
Then the fun began I built up layers of vertigris and acrylic then sanded back to the timber on some of the high areas
The under side is all carved with a hatch and slash pattern then pated with the verigris but with no acid added so a complete contrast
Sprayed over the top with lacquer as is the wooden part left
Sorry for the photos Jamie I got head lights and probably many other faults in the shot
I have to say I am chuffed how this came out
Comments welcome
