Maple & Walnut Winged Box

The Maple & Walnut winged box was completed in October of 2009. The box is turned from a 1x3x5 and 1x3x3 kiln dried hard Maple. Texturing was done with an NSK carver and 1/16 ball burr purchased from Treeline Inc., at the Albuquerque Symposium. The finish is 3 coats of Waterlox followed by the Beall buffing system. The box is 2 x 5 x 3 tall to the top of the Walnut finial.
Thanks Don. You are right about the NSK. They cost $$$ but well worth it. Amazing how much easier it works after the Dremmel.

Thanks Frank. I really like the NSK carver and very small 1/16" ball burrs. They make it so much easier.
