Pinstriped Vessel

Two weeks ago I cut up a 3-foot diameter Sassafras trunk section and brought home a small truckload of it. Since it is softwood, it dries out fast and degrades. So I turned this piece the next day and I have been anxiously waiting for it to dry and stabilize. I was excited to see the larger growth rings sandblasted, dyed and limed. So please tell me what you think of it.

This will be my EOG auction piece for the AAW symposium.

Andy,
a very nice piece.
As I normally color and lacquer my works, I also sandblast and lime some of my pieces as well.

In your vessel the grain machtes very nice with the form.

Greetings from Germany
Peter
