A new 33 step spiral pair with veneers.

A new 33 step spiral pair with veneers.

The laminated blanks here have Maple, orange dyed maple and bloodwood veneers between. Which was an awful carry on for me to get them all lined up, but it was eventually successful. The spirals are 8 inches high with 33 steps not including the base. The top 9 steps are on 8 offcenters to the circle. The center 16 steps on 16 offcenters and rotating in the opposite direction and the bottom 8 back to 8 offcenters to the circle and rotating back to the same as the top 8.
Each step is 2" diameter and just under a 1/4" high. Woods used are Padouk and pau amarello.
The spirals are turned from 1 piece not glued.
Comments as always welcome .
Best regards from Jeff.
