Very nice. Question: why is the edge of the ebony collar proud of the surface of the vase?

Hi Frank,
Because that is the way that I decided to make it, I believe that I was attempting to ad a somewhat Japanese influence to the shape, and had to get out of the box to do this. Hollow vessel work is very new to me, This is about my fourth attempt and so far the most successful. I really enjoyed making it. Jim
