This vessel is the latest in my carved and sandblasted series. It was intentionally left thick for sandblasting since I prefer the added dimension that a thick vessel gives. The wall thickness is around 1/8 at the top and thickens to 1/4 at the bottom. The porous grain on each growth ring was carved out with rotary bits. Sandblasting was used initially to identify where the grooves need to go. After carving all the rings I sandblasted again to soften all the edges and texture the surface.
The finish is black dye with black patinating wax.
Dims: 11 H x 6 1/2 Dia.
