Yew slices embedded in resin, Birch burl rim.
footless cup H 40 dia 120mm
Technique not yet in perfect running order (many bubles) borrowed from Gianfranco Angelino
Comments welcome, Lionel
I have used Epoxy/resins for decades on Bar tops, tables etc. never any bubbles.
After you mix it and pour it..I use a propane torch to go over the surface,10 inches away(NOT TO HEAT), but only so the Carbon Dioxide from the burning process can pull out the Oxygen.
Never use a heat gun.
Don, thanks for appreciation,
was an attempt...only epoxy at hand was Araldite not the best, I agree but available.
Since I've purchased another. Better fit...but not yet performed another turning because incidental break of the bowl I was turning (catch yes...)
There was bubles too but only in the upper bubles pits.
Thomas, many thanks for your tip. I'll try it
Hal, if you google with the term "Easy Cast" You'll find informations, and even tuto on Youtube.
Friendly, Lionel
