Color rim bowl

Oak wood with an epoxy & color stone rim. 7” X 3” Homemade wood finish.
Nice work!
I’m wondering if you did any prep or a technique to keep the ring attached as the wood might move? I’ve made 4-5 similar epoxy ring topped bowls and each of them failed after some time. When I sandwich a resin “ribbon” (for lack of a better term) in between two pieces of wood, I’ve not had a failure, ever.
Just curious on your experience…

Thanks, so I have made a few of These the last couple of years and have not had an issue. When I do this style I use very dry wood.
