Climate Emergency

Climate Emergency

This is a full size hydrant 30" tall. A few years ago after a wild fire destroyed a town in Alberta we wanted to make a statement that we are no longer experiencing climate change but a climate emergency. Sadly not much has changed with the politicians. A collaboration with Alison, Big Leaf Maple Burl, Arbutus and Plum, turned, hollowed, carved. The base is a 48" sq to represent a residential curb all that remained from the fire was steel objects. Being in the fire service we replicated a hydrant with threaded fittings and working gate valve. This piece recently sold and is heading overseas.
The hose, the chains, the valve are exceptionally well made and realistic!! I am super impressed, the detail is crazy!
