"Choo"

The club challenge for the last meeting was to make a toy. Choo is 14 long by 8 high and made from various woods in my stash. The boiler is silky oak hollowed to about to save weight, the cab and chassis is made from monkeypod and ebonized monkeypod , the wheels of kiawe and the stack and fuel bin from eucalyptus. The bell was made by cutting off a chunk of a brass punch and the balance of the brass was formed from Ace hardware brass bin. I used some brass nails with the heads cut off as dowels to add some mechanical strength where the end grain met the long grain. The fuel is cuttings from my coffee trees. Finish is lacquer.

Critiques and comments welcomed.
