The piece is 8 3/4 inches tall without the finial, overall is 11 3/4 inches. At the widest point is 4 1/4 inches wide. The foot is Cherry and the top piece is Cherry with Pecan in the middle. The wall thickness is between 1/8 to 3/16 inches. After ruff turning the profile, I noticed that there was cracks present. So I whipped out the Super glue and went to work, after the glue cured, started turning the piece again to cut off the glue over run on the cracks. When the finishing stage came, I noticed that the glue penetrated deeper than I thought, so instead of turning more wood off to get rid of the glue lines, I reached for the pyrographic pen and made w whole bunch of dots where ever the glue line showed up. The piece was finished with 7 coats of high gloss wipe-on-poly.
The finial is 3 3/4 inches tall which is turned aluminum with Black and White Ebony ball. The ebony ball was Beal buffed and the aluminum was sanded to 12,000 then polished with medal polish. When the finial is removed, there is knurling on the bottom,
