Burmese Teak Burl Elegant Box

Burmese Teak Burl Elegant Box

Back at it with the boxes, this particular piece is turned from a nicely colored and burled chunk of Burmese Teak (Tectona grandis). This one is an elegant style as the base curves in more than a round bottom box which has more of a semi-circular base. Details include, a chamfered edge rim, small base, domed lid and a more pronounced flair near the top of the lid. Turned, hollowed to a thin wall, (this box is really light, as the wood is not too dense), and finished with heat buffed wax and gloss lacquer. Size is 1 1/2" tall x 1 7/8" diameter. Overall this wood is really nice and easy to turn!
