Boxelder Vessel
John Jordan

Boxelder Vessel

Turned and carved and bleached boxelder. Early 90's. Don't bleach much anymore as the wood turns yellow and brown anyway. But it looked really striking when it was fresh.

Look closely and you can see the pattern in the top-same little chips, just organized into patterns. Done with a little carving gouge.
Very nice, John. When I produce a surface like that, it's called firewood. When you do it, it's a $2000 work of art. (Good for you!)
