Black Oak Calabash

Black Oak Calabash

Moderately spalted Black Oak. Smells of peaches when turned--very nice!

This wood came from a tree my neighbors felled around a month ago. I salvaged a fair number of logs, and have made a couple of bowls so far. This is from a section of limb. Turned fairly thin, and gradually thickens to the base. Fully round bottom, of course. 3.5"h x 6.75"d.
I always wait for Emiliano’s comments on these bowls Michael. It appears he has discovered golf on Maui, lol!! If I’m not turning, that sounds like a great alternative!!
