Black Hole

Silver maple burl (caused by mistletoe infestation), about in. thick x about 12in., turned to hopefully evoke a vortex. It was then cut into quarters
and mounted and framed. Critiques are much appreciated.
Hi Hal
This is a very nice piece of wood, I wonder whether you would have achieved a bit more depth had the wood been thicker on the outer edge. In other words, graduate down towards the centre to enhance the vortex effect. A good idea, well done.
Wally

Thanks Wally. Yours is a good idea, but unfortunately, too late. I cut four or five slabs to turn as shallow bowls or some kind of wall hanging, and this was one.
