Bird's Eye Mesquite Bowl

Bird's Eye Mesquite Bowl

Turned from green birds eye mesquite without drying (one of the many reasons that I love mesquite). The light colored marks are the tiny birds eye knots. Finished with spray lacquer. Posted for photographic critique.
very nice

Thanks for the comment, Charlie.

Thank you, Don. It is one of my favorite shapes for simple bowls. I aim for a smooth continuous parabolic curve in the interior while the exterior helps to create an illusion of greater than actual size. The actual diameter is 10 inches which is the limit of my mini lathe.

Thanks, Odie. Mesquite is my favorite wood and I was fortunate to get some really good mesquite with rare bird's eye flecking.
