Basket Case

Basket Case

This piece has been my longest most challenging piece to date. I've named it Basket Case as that is what it has turned (pun) me into (not really). The size is 14" W X 13.5" T. The piece count is 11424 and comprised of Maple, Bloodwood and Yellowheart. It has been a labor of love and I need to give a shout out to a few of our members for their much appreciated input. Thank you to Robin Costelle, Al Miotke, Malcolm Tibbetts, Pete Marken and of course Tom Lohman for his wonderful jig and inspiration. This finish is gloss lacquer.
Russ, a great looking vase, I am happy that you stuck to your guns and completed it to the original design. Keep up the great work!

What a wonderful job. I agree the shape is excellent and of course all the hardwork producing the rings. I'll give you a tip on photography. You can get rid of most of that dark rectangle in the front by cutting a round hole in a large piece of white paper and poking the camera lens through that. It appears you are using a light tent. You can also drape white cloth from the top of the tent to the camera and then around the lens or cut a slit in the cloth to poke the camera through. That will eliminate all but a small circle where the piece "sees" the camera lens.

11424 pieces..... Russ, you forgot to include one Masterful Piece, YOU, 11425!! What a masterful creation for us all to look forward to our creation challenges.
