Bamboo

My latest work entitled “Bamboo.” It’s a hollow vessel with lid created from Big Leaf Maple. There are four different pyrography bamboo images in frames on each side. The open field tying the frames together was branded with a basket weave pattern. The handle on the lid was hand carved in a curved shape to complement the form of the vessel. The work was then airbrushed with a TransTint dye and sealed with a matt finish which imparts a Raku oriental pottery look. Wood Symphony recently found a new home for the piece.
Just love this piece Bill, the overall form, design & crispness of the bamboo art, the lid lift is a killer
