Autumnal Equinox - Front

The latest version in what I have begun to refer to as my "Solstice Series", unsure that I will stick with the title of this piece - it's the first thing that came to mind. Made from Hard Maple, it measures approximately 6" x 2", colored with Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens, gilded the center circles on front & back with copper metal leaf.
I marvel at the patience other people have. I couldn't do something like that, especially so masterfully!

Beautiful as always David! Nice use of the copper!
I didn't even know that gilding copper was a thing! Thanks for the heads-up.
Thanks for the kind words Will!
From what I remember there are several brands of metal leaf - I happened to find copper & silver (in 25 sheet books) of the "Craft Smart" brand at a local art supply store & bought them on a whim - I had an idea & wanted to try gilding on one of my pieces - but it was a while before I tried the technique. Turns out that I really like the look of the copper, so I'm glad I bought it when I did!
