Ash Bowl - Design Opportunity
This started out to be a natural bark edge bowl. At the rim there was a weak area where the borers had done their work, and a sizeable chunk blew out of the side, so ........design opportunity!
This particular blank would not let me center the heart wood, unless I cut it way down to a much smaller blank, and changed the angle of the wood on the bandsaw, which would have left me with an unacceptable size bowl for the gallery needs I currently have, so I made the most of this option.
This bowl is 11-1/8" diameter, and finished with danish oil. Pics are with my iphone 11.
