Arbutus Oval Platter

A large Arbutus platter turned with the oval turning device. This piece greatly exceeds the manufacturers weight recommendation of 5kg which is to include the chuck and workpiece. It was either this piece or another I'm working on weighed 25kg green when I rough turned it. There were no issues and I use low rpm. The platter is quite shallow with a high raised foot. 19.5" X 13.25" X 3.5" finished with 2 coats tung oil.
