Ancient Dwelling - Front

Many thanks to Jim McLain for all of his instruction, guidance & willingness to coach me thru the process to make this piece! It was a very challenging project for me - there are so many different skills sets required with his process - I tried to follow along with his techniques as best I could, but he is the true artist and craftsman! This piece is turned from Alligator Juniper and measures approximately 9"D x 7" H.

I tried to do a couple pieces all on my own, based on just seeing Jim McLain's work . I'm missing something important, they didn't turn out anywhere near that good.
