Amur Maple - Cake Plate

Amur maple- a species that originates in Asia, and grown in the U.S. as an ornamental, which has bright red leaves in the fall. Also, an invasive species which left unchecked will take over an area. This cake plate is from a very lopsided crotch area of the tree, and was very unbalanced when started. The acrylic cover was purchased after the plate was made. Approx. 11" diameter
