Oak, 10" x 2", turned, textured, verdigris patina, epoxy-cast Arabica coffee grounds with black leather dye, speckled crab shell, bronze with blue patina on aluminum base. C&C's most welcome.
Jim, no fight at all, just flipped over and said "take me". Actually, it's quite common to find just the top of the shell washed up after a storm, and I found several this day.
I didn't mention in the description that I am a Cancer, hence the crab.
Hello Rick.
i dont know what has happened but twice i have left a comment for you and they have both disapeared.
I realy like this piece the crab shell is a great idea.
very well done
Regards George
Sorry my mistake it was my comment on the WOW site that disapeared
Hi George,
Losing your comment on WoW happened when I tried to edit the photo so you could see it better...seems you have to ditch the old photo in order to repost, and everything was lost and had to be redone.
Thanks for your kind comment! As stated above, I'm a Cancer, so the crab was a natural for me to use. I collected some nice dungeness crab shells in California last July, but the fine folks of the TSA managed to crush them while rifling through my bags. I'm thinking about doing a disk with the fragments in the center, call it Ode to TSA.
Hi Terry,
Thank you very much! To me, part of the honor is following your previous turning of the week...it's nice to be in such company, even if only for a little while.
