AAW Summer 2009 Contest

Sanded to 800, two coats of Fiebing's USMC Black leather dye, lightly buffed
Thank You For Your Kind Words.
The piece measures 7 3/4 inches high by 5 1/2 inches in diameter.
It is re-turned from a curly maple piece I did a while ago.
The foot was a bit too big and there was enough wall thickness where it needed fixing to make it better.
After the "contest," I will take off most of the color so that the curl shows.

About the "contest":
I like to think of these things more as focus groups where everyone brings their ideas to the table and then our ideas are reviewed and evaluated.
I learn a great deal from these things, even when I don't participate, because of the honest critique that comes out of them.
