AAW March 2011 Contest

Where else would emperor penguins live but the Imperial Palace, a two story structure with underground parking levels. The Crown Prince is cavorting in the ball room as the Emperor minds an egg while the Empress is off fishing. You make up a story.
Cherry with bleached sections, acrylic paint, metal leaf.
Bleach is used for the Emperors body lightly blushed at the throat with acrylic. This less than bright white on cherry is perfect for the body color with a flat finish. A double bleaching is used on the stair wall again flat no finish. On the rock wall single bleach under shellac gives a darker hue with a more shine. The ball room wall is the same. The Crown prince was bleached to provide a neutral canvas for his body color, only his face remains bleached with no finish.
