AAW January 2011 Contest

This is one of my entries for the January contest. For some reason the song "Proud Mary" kept going through my head while I was making it, so I decided to name it that. All that rollin' I guess.

The back side is essentially the same as the front. The area behind the inner ring is open to the other side so you can see the pierced pattern through the opening.

The area behind the outer ring is a recess cut into the body of the piece and painted black.

It's made of figured maple, bubinga, African blackwood, ebonized oak, and brass pins.

It's 29"Hx11"Wx3 1/2"D. C&C welcome.
