Our AAW chapter, the Mid-Columbia Woodturners, sets an annual challenge at the January meeting, the results to be shown at our Christmas party in December. Plenty of time to formulate an idea and craft a piece.....unless you are like me and start work the Tuesday before the Saturday festivities. It just so happens that this year marks the 20th anniversary of our chapter so the theme was simply "Twenty". As the Christmas party marked the end of my 2nd and final term as chapter president it seemed appropriate that my project should be a tribute to the folks that have helped pave my path. Around the rim of this 13" platter are 20 inset discs of wood and other materials that remind me of the good times I've had with many of the good folks in our chapter- not always about woodturning but always inspiring .
