A Pound of Feathers, or...

This is a play on the question, "What weighs more, a pound of feathers, or a pound of bricks?". They weigh the same, of course--as do these Sweetgum and Patagonian Rosewood eggs (91.4g and 91.7g, respectively), despite their obviously different sizes. Wildly different woods in appearance, size, oiliness, and perceived value; however they possess the same basic characteristics that all woods do. Likewise, with the Gaboon Ebony and Black Cherry firewood stand. The copper wire spring that connects the eggs was fun to make as well (the egg/spring component is removable and fun to play with).
I made this for a turning exchange on a different forum (reddit r/turning). Total height is around 7". Here is a detail shot of the stand, and a shot of the backside of the eggs:

So creative, so clever. I enjoy seeing these things that you dream up, and pull off!
Thanks a lot Marc! These are the ones that give me a lot joy :)

Another cool and creative project, Michael. Did you use the left over copper wire from "The Forbidden Egg" piece? :D
Thank you Tom! Ha, I DID use the leftovers for this one. Lessens the sting a bit when you can get two projects out of a single purchase haha
