I have gotten into hollowed globe and birdhouse ornaments. The hollowed ornaments are approx 2" in diameter and 6" long. The black finials have been dyed with black shoe dye.

I have gotten away from screw eyes in favor of just drilling throught the finial cap. The fine ribbon thread comes from Michaels with red, silver and gold thread.
