#2145 East India Rosewood.

Finished on 2/24/2024 and sold on 5/14/2024 for $220 minus 10% discount for a "Father's Day" sale I was running. Roughed bowl took 6 months to stabilize, and the second turn was then completed. Size is 8" x 2 13/16", 14.8 oz. Sanded to 1200gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buffed. As I understand it, this wood is "vulnerable", and lumber that is harvested is regulated by the Indian government. That which is available is sold at government auction.
How do you come up with the shape and details? Do you "wing it"?

Yes Isaac, for the most part, I do "wing it". Many times the final shape is the result of bringing a roughed bowl back to round, while eliminating any flaws and highlighting any great features. Generally, I have certain basic shapes that I have pioneered from doing them many times.....with slight variations.
