Another beautiful bowl Odie! Love the Spalting. I see that you turned this bowl with the pith showing. Very creative and I like the rings out from the center of the pith. Well done indeed my friend!
@Kevin Weir I don't believe I filled any voids with this one, Kevin. If it's structurally unsound, I do always, and my usual method is two part epoxy.....sometimes dyed with fabric dye.

well that is amazing....i can see taking 8 years before turning and that might have been key to blank not cracking.....did u know that it had pith in it when u bought it?
Tks for sharing....beautiful....Oak really is pretty wood
@charlie knighton I can't remember if I saw a photograph prior to purchasing this one, Charlie......but, I probably did. It was only $10+shipping, so I'm guessing I was just taking a chance on it. I didn't take a pic of the block, but it was pretty ugly looking! I can remember passing it up when choosing the next bowl to go on the lathe......many times......because I kept thinking it was probably going to be a failure! You could be right, tho.....all that extra time on the shelf could have helped prevent cracking from the pith......

@Kevin Weir .....well Kevin, the background is actually blue, instead of the violet color it looks in the photo. This is probably because my photo editing wasn't as good as it could have been. .....that could very well have something to do with the little spot you thought was a fill-in for a void.....-----odie-----
