1723 East India Rosewood

1723 East India Rosewood, finished 2/6/2021. The bowl blank had an initial MC of 24%, and after roughing and anchorseal, took a total of 23 months to stabilize....Very slow, but not unusual for many of the exotic, very hard and dense woods of the world. I love the very dark, almost black sheen of E.I.R.....very aesthetically appealing. As many of you know, this is an endangered species. The E.I.R. harvest is regulated by the Indian government, and not regularly available. This is because of overharvesting in the past. This bowl is 9.5 oz, and the dimensions are 7 1/16" x 2 7/8". Sanded to 600gt, Danish Oil Natural, and Beale 3-step buffed. E.I.R has somewhat of an oily content, that clogs up sandpaper rather quickly.....
