1379 Maple Burl (15)

As received, block was 7" x 3" and 14% MC. After roughing, took 3+ months to stabilize, and lost a total of 35 grams during the process. Finished size is 6 3/4" x 2 13/16". Sanded to 600 + 0000 steel wool, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buff. There was a bark inclusion on one side, and I decided to include this in the finished bowl. Glad I did this, because I feel it adds an element of natural character to the finished piece. Undercut rim. Materials cost was $27.34.
odie, my complements on the bowl and your detailed description of the entire process from blank to finished bowl.

Another beautiful bowl Odie! Yes, I think the inclusion on the rim adds character to the piece. I really like the Danish oil and Beall 3-step buff as a finish. Well done Odie.
